USMLEのStep2 CSは、はっきり言って暗記でなんとかなる試験です。IELTSのspeakingやwritingでは、丸暗記やテンプレートの使用で大きく減点されますが、CSはテンプレートの丸暗記で十分です。Step1やCKと異なり（合格さえすれば）スコアも気にする必要がないため、ひたすら繰り返し練習さえすれば合格できる試験です。
私は当時、CSの合格者の外国人に模擬患者役を毎日してもらい、CSで使うべき言い回しを事細かく教えてもらいました。また、Kaplanの直前コースにも参加し、細かい採点ポイントを知ることができました。その結果、英語が殆ど話せなかった私（IELTSでそれなりの点を取る随分前のことです）でも、暗記だけで無事合格することができました。
そこで、このブログでは、暗記すべき言い回しやテンプレートを中心に、上記の教訓を元に私が作成したノートをシェアしたいと思います。
繰り返しますが、IELTSのspeakingやwritingでテンプレートの使用や丸暗記は禁忌です（こちらを参考にしてください）。
導入
最初の挨拶
Hello, Mr. XX. How can I call you? (How do you want me to address you? Did I pronounce your name correctly?) My name is XX. I’m an attending doctor/pediatrician and I’ll be taking care of you (the physician on duty) today. Nice to meet you.
痛みで横になっている患者をみたら
- You look uncomfortable on the (examination) table.
- Let me pull out the leg rest to make you feel more confortable.
電話での挨拶
Can I know your name? How are you related to the child (patient), …? Nice talking to you. How can I help you? Where is he right now?
Open question
- What brings you up today? How can I help you? I’m sorry to hear that.
- Is there anything else?
- Can you tell me more about that?
- Were you completely normal before the symptom?
- How can you describe the injury/fall?
泣いている患者であれば、sexual assaultのことがあるので、肩を軽く叩く。
I’m going to ask you some questions that may or may not be related to your symptoms to get better idea of your diagnosis.
点数upには、こんな言葉を加えると良い。
- Do you mind if I sit down/stand and take some notes?
- Can I help you to move to another position that is comfortable?
- I want to XX to make you feel more comfortable. (pull out foot rest, cover you)
